Check out what The Miami HEAT have to say about the Teradek Cube:
“It’s great for both the quality and the price point, which is just the purchase of the Teradek since we don’t pay anything for the transmission,” says Ballard. “You can change the settings on it to transmit at a rate where it looks like beautiful HD video, and it’s basically free.”
Carlos Rodriguez of CVTV in Modesto has been taking the Cube around town to cover breaking news for his community by transmitting live video to the Internet over 3G/4G networks. Above are a few shots of his setup in action. If you’d like to learn more about Carlos’ work, please visit: http://centralvalleytv.net/
Live Broadcast from a CineStar 8
Jaan from Estonia took a Teradek Cube and mounted it onto a CineStar 8 Quadrocopter for live streaming aerial footage around his location. The footage looks amazing! His description of the process is below:
It is not first time in history of humanity, but it can easily be first time in Estonia. It’s pretty simple:
- take a multicopter (such as CineStar from FreeFly)
- take an hd-camera (such as Panasonic GH2 or Sony HDR CX350)
- take an hd-video encoder (such as Teradek Cube)
- ask your friends from helicam if they can help you with piloting
- ask your friends from streambuffet if they can provide you a platform for broadcast
- ask your friends from emt if you can borrow a 4G USB stick
- put it all together, shake a bit.
The New York Post is providing NFL pre-draft coverage with a Teradek Bond right now. Check out the stream at their homepage!
Michael Artsis used the Teradek Bond yesterday to stream a Steiner Sports interview with Victor Cruz live to the Internet. The quality of the broadcast was impeccable as you can see from the photos above.
One more thing…
The New Cube Is Here
Teradek, the world leader in compact HD H.264 video encoders, today announced a new addition to their award-winning Cube® family, the new Cube x55 series. The Cube x55 is a groundbreaking new product line comprised of four models, 155, 255, 355, and 455, which offer a number of important new hardware and software refinements, including an OLED screen, built-in MIMO WiFi technology, and a built-in rechargeable battery.
The new Cube x55 product line, like the original, is a camera-top wireless HD video encoder that connects with any HDMI, HD-SDI, or composite camera. The unit streams via a built-in dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n, an Ethernet port, or a single 3G/4G USB modem. All of the new x55 models have the same features as the original Cube, in addition to: an OLED display for rapid configuration and real time status, a headphone output, a built-in rechargeable Li-Ion battery with two hours of runtime, a micro SD port for onboard proxy recording, and a full featured MIMO WiFi access point, which will greatly improve wireless performance and enable wireless camera control for cameras without built-in WiFi capabilities. The Cube x55 product family also has added support for dozens of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), including UStream, Justin.tv, Livestream, YouTube Live, Akamai, and many others.
“The new Cube x55 product line builds on the success of the original Cube and will continue to change the way people stream HD video,” said Nicol Verheem, CEO of Teradek. “We’ve sold more than 3,500 Cubes to date, so we spent a lot of time listening to our customer base and studying how the original product is being used in the field. We added the most requested new features while also retaining the same features that made the Cube the market leader, like its superior construction, size and weight. With all of this new and improved functionality, we are very confident that the new Cube x55 series will further solidify our success in revolutionizing the industry.”
The new Cube x55 products will be available later this month and will be showcased along with the Company’s other products at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show, from April 16-19, 2012 at Booth Number C11037.
Lot’s of attention paid to detail, with small touches in that will delight new Cube owners.
Another subtle change, but this one will have a helluva impact on the user experience…especially iPad users. Hint: you need to understand WiFi networking to get this one.
This is the boring side…But again three exciting new features can be seen (or concluded) from this….
Same great size, same great price, lots of new features. Three of which can be seen (or concluded) from this image….can you get them all ?
The Teradek Bond was used at a NASCAR race in Fontana, CA over the weekend with great success. Here are a few pictures from the event. Keep an eye on this space - we’ll have much more racing related footage from Bond coming soon.
